Program announced for WN x ChinaJoy International Summit Shanghai'24, with talks from Niko Partners, Esigame, and Pixonic

On July 25, the organizers of the WN Conference and ChinaJoy, the largest video game conference in Asia, will bring together games industry professionals at a special international summit in Shanghai. Here are the details about the event’s program.

WN Media Group will host WN x ChinaJoy International Summit Shanghai’24 to build bridges between the global and Chinese communities by connecting local industry leaders with their international colleagues.

The event will take place from 13:00 to 17:00 (GMT+8) and will be part of the larger ChinaJoy 2024 conference scheduled for July 25-29 (check out this article for more details).

Its program will focus on topics such as game publishing, investment, talent management, and game analytics, as well as generative AI and LLMs.

Below are some of the officially announced talks:

  • 750 Million Reasons to Understand China’s Games Market — Niko Partners VP Xiaofeng Zeng will share insights about the things that make China a powerful and appealing market;
  • You Got an ISBN for Your Game, What’s Next? — MY.GAMES project manager Lana Bokay-Poltavets will discuss how Pixonic managed to get a publishing license for its mobile hit War Robots, including the challenges the team faced along the way and the process of adapting the game to the Chinese market;
  • Cherry Chen, co-founder of Chinese developer Esigame, will talk about working with mini-game platforms like WeChat and Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok).

Other speakers include Wenfeng Yang (entrepreneur and veteran mobile game developer), David Wang (team lead at Supersonic’s APAC & SEA publishing team), and Berkley Egenes (CMO at Xsolla).

In addition, attendees will be able to use the WN Hub communication platform to connect with local and international games industry experts and decision-makers during the ChinaJoy week.

This is not the first collaboration between WN Media Group and ChinaJoy. Last year, they joined forces for WN Connect Shanghai, which brought together almost 300 people from 176 companies such as Perfect World, Scopely, Baidu, iDreamSky, Yoozoo, Bilibili, Tencent, NetEase, 505 Games, MY.GAMES, Lilith Games, and Dotemu.
