Newzoo revised its data on the gaming market for 2023. Its revenue turned out to be lower than forecast
The analytics company Newzoo has finalized the figures for the global video game market in 2023. It calculated that last year the market earned $183.9 billion. This is slightly below the already lowered forecast from November of $184 billion, while initially, analysts forecasted revenue of $187.7 billion.

Nevertheless, compared to 2022, market revenue grew, albeit by just 0.5%.
- The mobile games segment revenue is $89.9 billion, down 2.1% year-on-year. The last forecast was $90.4 billion.
- The console games segment revenue is $52.4 billion, a growth of 0.3%. The forecast was $53.2 billion.
- The PC games segment revenue is $39.6 billion, an increase of 8.4%. The forecast was $38.4 billion.
- The browser games segment revenue is $1.9 billion, a decrease of 16.9%. The forecast was also $1.9 billion.
