AppMagic: Users have left more than $1 billion in Melsoft Games
This August, the total user spending on Melsoft Games mobile games for the entire time of the company’s operation reached the billion dollar mark. This is reported by the analytical platform AppMagic.
Art to Family Island
- 70% of the amount was left by the players in the Family Island farm;
- 28% of the amount is in the My Cafe time manager;
- the other 14 projects accounted for the remaining 2% of the amount.
As for the regional distribution, the residents of the USA (39%), Germany (6%) and Japan (also 6%) left the most money in the game. Google Play brought more to the company’s games than the App Store. The official Android store accounted for 58% of the specified amount.
Important: despite the fact that users spent a billion dollars in Melsoft Games, the company itself earned significantly less. Its revenue after deducting the share of platforms and taxes amounted to around $ 600 million.
Melsoft Games Revenue Dynamics
Today, according to the official website, Melsoft is positioned as a developer of casual games with offices in Lithuania and Tel Aviv.
Initially, the company was a Belarusian studio “Melesta” with an office in Minsk. It was under this name that she released such casual hits as Toy Defense and Farm Frenzy. For a long time, its strategic partner was Wargaming.
In 2020, as Melsoft Games, the studio was acquired by the Israeli Moon Active, known for the mobile blockbuster Coin Master (the title’s revenue has now reached more than $ 3.5 billion).
When exactly Melsoft Games ceased to be a Belarusian company is not entirely clear. Even at the end of 2022, she remained a resident of the local Hi-Tech Park. The move and the change of positioning could be related to a whole group of factors.
We are talking about both the absolutely obvious ones (Lukashenka’s re-election in 2020 and the beginning of hostilities by Russia in 2022), and those about which less is known. For example, with the beginning of inspections of the company by the Belarusian State Control. Against this background, it is obvious that the new owner of the company was interested in reducing risks (that is, in its relocation).
By the way, according to Lithuanian services, the average salary of Melsoft Games employees in Lithuania today is €5,250. Moreover, in March, with the likely consideration of quarterly bonuses, this figure reached €13,575. Thanks to this, the company led the top Lithuanian companies with the highest average salary.
