Mobile market for Women
EEDAR has found that mobile players are predominantly women. For this reason, it is necessary to focus, first of all, on them.
According to a study by an analytical company, the gaming audience consists of 60% of them. Women play more than men, especially when it comes to social multiplayer games. They are played by 63% of female gamers and “only” 52% of male gamers.
“Information about the female audience is now worth its weight in gold,” EEDAR analyst Jesse Divinich said in his interview with USA Today. The user databases of games such as Draw Something, Words With Friends, Big Fish Casino are dominated by women. The situation is fundamentally different from that observed by developers and publishers in the console games market.
“If you are developing a game for mobile platforms, and are interested in reaching the widest possible audience, you should focus on women,” adds Paul Thelen, executive director of Big Fish Games. “65% of Texas Hold ‘Em’s revenue comes from women,” he adds.
As for the EEDAR study, 2,491 active mobile players aged 15 to 64 were interviewed during it.
