MY.GAMES reports almost $150 million in quarterly revenue, with 78% of it coming from mobile

Russian gaming brand MY.GAMES, which operates mobile games and invests in studios across the world, has released its report for the first quarter of 2021. It reached almost $150 million in revenue, which is 39% of its parent company Mail.ru Group’s consolidated revenue.

  • MY.GAMES revenue was ₽11 billion (around $147 million), which is up 42.2% year-over-year.
  • 79% of revenue came from outside Russia and CIS, with the US, Germany, and UK being the key markets.
  • EBITDA was ₽1.4 billion (around $18.8 million) with a 13.2% margin, which is up 165% year-over-year.
  • Average MAU was 22.7 million, with a 4.8% share of paying monthly users. Mobile games also accounted for 78% of the company’s revenue.

Mobile and PC games metrics

  • The company’s growth was driven by War Robots, Hustle Castle, Rush Royale, Grand Hotel Mania, and Left to Survive.
  • War Robots surpassed $500 million in lifetime revenue. The game’s total downloads reached 191 million in March.
  • Hustle Castle reached ₽400 million (around $5.3 million) in monthly revenue in Q1.
  • Monthly revenue of Rush Royale exceeded ₽250 million (around $3.3 million) in March.
  • Grand Hotel Mania reached ₽350 million (around $4.7 million) in monthly revenue, as the title also reached 10 million downloads since its launch in July 2020.
  • Warface reached 114 million players globally, remaining a top-3 MY.GAMES title in terms of revenue.
  • MMO Skyforge reached 12 million registered users, driven by its release on Nintendo Switch.

According to MY.GAMES CEO Vasily Maguryan, the company continues to build its active user base while giving creative freedom to its studios. It allows the company to develop and support multiple games simultaneously, providing them with regular updates.
