Mobile publisher InnoGames hits record-breaking revenue of $266 million in 2020

German mobile game developer and publisher InnoGames has been growing consecutively for more than 10 years. In 2020, it hit a record-breaking revenue of over $260 million.

The company shares the news on its official website. Last year, InnoGames’ revenue grew up more than 15% year-over-year, helping the studio earn €220 million ($266 million).

It also managed to end 2020 with an EBITDA margin of 29%. It is the 14th year in a row when InnoGames has grown financially.

Key games and drivers of the growth

  • Forge of Empire served as the main contributor to the company’s growth, followed by Tribal War, Elvenar, and Grepolis.
  • City builder Elvenar reached €100 million ($120 million) in lifetime revenue last May.
  • Tribal War, which has been on the market for 17 years, grew up more than 24% in 2020.
  • Mobile and browser games helped InnoGames reached a 13% growth in ARPDAU.
  • U.S.A., Germany, and France were the leading markets by revenue, with the total playtime of the studio’s games surpassed 904 million hours.

“Our seamless transition to home office and our core strengths allowed us to continue to provide high-quality virtual worlds for players to safely connect,” InnoGames co-founder and CEO Hendrik Klindworth says.

InnoGames, founded in 2007, is known for developing and publishing mobile and browser games. The company now has seven live games and a few titles in production.
