Detroit: Become Human has sold more than five million units, developer Quantic Dream announced via a press release.

The title hit the five million mark one month after it became available on Steam. Formerly a PlayStation exclusive, it has been available on PC since December 2019 via the Epic Games Store.

Due to its branching narrative, Detroit benefited from the Community Play extension it received on Steam. The feature allows Twitch streamers and viewers to make choices in-game collaboratively. According to the developer, the extension “elevated a fundamentally single-player game into a social experience.”

Launching Detroit: Become Human on Steam has been a delightful experience for us. The response we’re seeing has been incredibly positive, in particular in Asian markets.
