CD Projekt becomes Europe’s most valuable game company beating Ubisoft
CD Projekt’s market capitalisation has reached $8.13 billion, which makes the Polish developer and publisher the most valuable video game company in Europe.
In December 2019, CD Projekt posted a return of 21,000% since the end of 2009, the biggest surge by far of any stock in the Stoxx Europe 600 Index. Even though there were no big releases by CD Projekt in 2019, the company’s market evaluation grew 86% to $6.8 billion in 2019.
In February 2020, CD Projekt was already worth $8 billion thanks to consistently strong sales of the Witcher 3 and the game’s release on Switch. At the time, it was second only to Ubisoft valued at around $9.6 billion.
And now CD Projekt claims the top spot beating Ubisoft’s current market valuation of $8.12 billion.
On a related note, The Witcher 3 celebrated its fifth anniversary on May 19.
