NPD Group: in June, the revenue of the American gaming market fell by 11%
Americans’ spending on video games, hardware and accessories has been falling for the seventh month in a row. According to NPD Group analysts, in June, the revenue of the US gaming market decreased by 11% compared to last year and amounted to $4.3 billion.
▪️Sales of gaming accessories fell the most — by 15% to $176 million. The black DualSense wireless controller was sold best in the States.
▪️Sales of “iron” decreased by 8% to $371 million. PlayStation 5 has become the sales leader among consoles in terms of revenue in dollars — in June, its sales increased by a double-digit percentage in annual terms. In terms of the number of copies sold, the Nintendo Switch was in the lead.
▪️Video game sales fell 11% to $3.7 billion. The best-selling game of the month was again Elden Ring.
