Newzoo: 191 million gamers live in the USA, almost half of them spend money in games
Another analytical company has published a study. Newzoo tried to find out what the audience of video games in the USA looks like now. We have selected the main thing from the report.
▪️52% of American gamers are men. Another 47% are women. 1% are non—binary persons.
The most gamers in the USA are aged 21-35 years (35%). Next are gamers aged 10-20 years (26%), 26-50 years (25%) and 51-65% years (13%).
▪️72% of gamers are enthusiasts. They don’t just play video games, but also watch/they create game streams themselves, go to exhibitions and are actively interested in the industry.
Americans identify the desire to socialize (37%), do something (37%) and get achievements (36%) as the main motives for playing.
▪️48% of gamers play on smartphones, 39% — on consoles and 27% — on PC;
Top 3 genres by MAU (on consoles and PC) — shooters, adventures and royal battles.
▪️49% of gamers make purchases in games. In total, they spent $47.3 billion in 2021.
