CES 2013: New products of the mobile market

Now the largest consumer electronics show CES 2013 is taking place in Las Vegas. Within its framework, mobile device manufacturers presented a number of new products.

Sony presented its new flagship at the exhibition – Xperia Z based on Android 4.1 with a 5-inch Reality Display screen, whose resolution is 1920 x 1080. But the gadget pleases not only with Full HD format. Another feature of the Xperia Z, which will appear on the shelves before the end of the current quarter, is a 4-core Snapdragon S4 Pro at 1.5 GHz with an Adreno 320 graphics subsystem and 2 GB RAM. However, ordinary buyers are likely to pay attention to other features: the glass on the back and the water resistance of the flagship.

In approximately the same vein, the Chinese from Huawei performed, presenting the Ascend D2. The device, like Sony’s flagship, is equipped with a 5-inch screen with Full-HD resolution (the new format is a new trend that raises the cost of graphic content to a new level, cheap mobile games are becoming a thing of the past). The Chinese also presented a 6.1-inch device – Ascend Mate.

At CES 2013, there was a noticeable trend towards an increase in screens not only for smartphones, but also for tablets. Panasonic, for example, introduced a giant 20-inch “tablet” running Windows 8.

It is unlikely that the increase of tablets to almost television size will attract users. Rather, this is evidence of a crisis of ideas in the modern mobile device market. Manufacturers are increasing the frequency of processors, the amount of memory, but are not yet able to go beyond the paradigm proposed by Steve Jobs in 2007.
