Mexico's gaming market was estimated at $1.6 billion
Mexico ranks 12th in terms of gaming market turnover. In 2018, the players of this country will spend $ 1.6 billion, Newzoo predicts.
The population of Mexico is 121 million people. Of these, Newzoo refers almost half to gamers – 55.8 million.
The most popular platform among Mexican players is mobile. 65% of men and 60% of women launch games on it at least once a month. Consoles and PCs have an almost equal audience, and also quite a large one.
The active paying audience in the country is wide: 77% of paying players have spent on in-game purchases in the last six months.
More than half of Mexicans who use the Internet watch game-themed videos, 41% of them use smartphones for this.
Of those who have heard about esports, 10% regularly watch relevant content. The most popular rival game in the country is FIFA. Interestingly, fans of esports are much more likely to show a positive attitude towards the Nvidia brand compared to those who are not keen on esports.
