App Annie: India has become a leader in the growth rate of the mobile market

The first thing App Annie experts mention is the volume of the Indian market. The local installation base has exceeded 1 billion devices. Mobile devices have overtaken PCs in popularity.
As a result, downloads of only non-gaming mobile applications have increased 2.1 times over the past two years. The Indian market has become the leader in terms of growth rates among the top 10 mobile markets.
The amount of time that local users spend in non-gaming applications increased 2.5 times between 2014 and 2016.
In 2015, the number of downloads from Indian stores amounted to 4 billion. In 2016, this number will grow by 92% and reach 7.7 billion. And by 2020 it will exceed 20.1 billion .
