Study: In 2015, the average American iPhone user spent $35 on games and apps
On average, an iPhone owner in the US spends $35 a year on games and apps. Such data for 2015 was shared by the analytical company Sensor Tower.
Of this amount, $25 is spent on games. For comparison, $1.80 is spent on social applications, $1 on entertainment, and $0.4 on fitness programs.
An average of 10.5 games are downloaded per device per year. The second most popular category – photo and video apps – is downloaded only 3.4 times per device. For social networks, the figure is even smaller – an average of 3.3 times.
Sensor Tower estimates the average installation price (CPI) of one game at $2.43.
For the study, the company’s experts examined data on 110 million iPhone owners in the United States.
