GDC: Gaming software sales will reach $100 billion by 2019
At the GDC conference, the non-profit association The Open Gaming Alliance (OGA) presented a forecast for the global gaming market. The volume of software sales in this market will reach $100 billion by 2019.
At the GDC, the representative of the association was David Cole, an analyst at the DFC Intelligence agency. According to expert forecasts, the largest segment of the market in the future will be the PC. By 2019, the market volume will exceed $36 billion. This is 35% higher than in 2015. Then the volume of the PC gaming market amounted to $28 billion.
Note that the OGA figures contradict the predictions of other analytical companies. Thus, Digi-Capital experts are confident that the largest industry will be mobile with a volume of $45 billion by 2018. By 2020, the volume of this segment of the industry will exceed $48 billion.
