PUBG Mobile tops $9 billion in lifetime revenue, generating over $5 million per day on average

PUBG Mobile has reached another milestone by crossing the $9 billion mark in lifetime revenue. Players have spent another $1 billion on in-game purchases over the last two quarters.

PUBG Mobile tops $9 billion in lifetime revenue

  • PUBG Mobile has generated 1.1 billion downloads since its launch on March 19, 2018, according to Sensor Tower (via GamesBeat).
  • With players spending $5.2 million per day on average, the game’s total revenue is now over $9 billion.
  • In the first quarter of 2022, PUBG Mobile generated $650 million on iOS and Android. The game has grossed around $1 billion in the last six months.
  • This brings its total player spending for the first three quarters of 2022 to $1.6 billion. It also generated 104.4 million downloads during this period.
  • While these numbers are still impressive, they are down around 27% compared to the same period in 2021 when PUBG Mobile generated $2.2 billion and reached 142 million downloads.
  • This is due to an overall downturn in the mobile market. According to Newzoo, it will fall 6.4% year-over-year to $92.2 billion.
  • The decline is largely due to the end of global lockdowns, the negative impact of the IDFA changes, and other macroeconomic factors like inflation.

It is worth noting that this analysis doesn’t include BattleGrounds Mobile India, a standalone version of PUBG Mobile available only in India. It has been blocked by the country’s government several times over national security concerns (the game was originally developed and published by Chinese tech giant Tencent).
