Newzoo: The most popular Android game in China - match-3
Among Android games in China, match-3 Anipop turned out to be the leader in downloads and checkout in September. Information about this was shared by the analytical firm Newzoo.
Anipop is a project of the Beijing studio Happy Elements. It started in the summer of 2014, and appeared in the world stores in the spring of 2015. And if the project went unnoticed in the Western market, then in Chinese Android stores it has been in first place for the second month in a row both in downloads and in cash.
The creators themselves describe the project as follows: “at first the game will seem similar to Candy [Crush], but, believe me, Anipop is something completely different.” We don’t believe it.
In second place in the box office rating is MOBA We.
She appeared in stores in August of this year. The publisher of the game is the Chinese corporation Tencent. The company promotes the game with the help of the South Korean boy band Big Bang. The group participates in PR campaigns of the project, and advertises not only the game itself, but also IAP and events.

It should be noted that Tencent games got 4 out of 10 positions in the box office rating and the same number in the download rating.
The projects are different here and there, with the exception of the 2D runner GunZ Dash.
The third place in grossing belongs to the mobile version of Minecraft. Newzoo reports that the game has dropped one point down compared to the previous month.
In the first place in terms of downloads, as we have already mentioned – match-3 Anipop. In second place is another match-3 – PopStar – from the Chinese studio ZPlay. The third place in the number of installations for the game Happy Lord from Tencent.
Newzoo notes that the games in the first three positions on installations have not changed since July.
