Clash of Kings continues expansion

By the end of July, the Clash of Kings game from the Chinese company Elex Technology was ranked fifth in the world in terms of gaming revenue within Google Play. Largely thanks to television advertising campaigns, the game, which debuted in the top in May immediately from the eighth position, is gradually rising higher and higher in the top. The project is a builder that allows players to create kingdoms and fight with other players online in real time.

The game earns mainly on players from the USA, Taiwan, South Korea, Russia and Japan. And there’s nothing to be surprised about. These are traditionally strong markets for games like Clash of Clans and Game of War.

The game dominated in Russia, holding the top grossing Google Play for almost the entire month of July. In Japan, the project’s cash figures also continued to grow steadily last month. In general, Clash of Kings is now hanging right on the tail of Game of War (the Machine Zone 4 game has a position at the end of July), which is very similar.

Agar.io absorbs downloads

As we already wrote on Friday, the main hit on downloads and on the App Store in July was Agar.io , mobile versions of which were released by Miniclip. It is this project that has collected the most game downloads in the world on the Apple platform.

It is curious that in the USA, the game also entered the top ten iPhone games leading in terms of penetration, which indicates the impressive virality of the game.

The Rebirth of Despicable Me and SpongeBob Moves In

Two once-popular titles unexpectedly returned to the top ten most downloaded iOS games last month: Despicable Me by Gameloft and SpongeBob Moves In by Viacom. The first reached the second place in the world in downloads, the second – the eighth. Both projects were released in mid-2013 and demonstrate the seriousness of projects based on popular IP.

Despicable Me, most likely, returned to the top thanks to the release of “Minions” on the big screens, an offshoot of the “Despicable Me” series. The promotion of the feed is not the first time helping the project. Although, of course, the release of the update, which took place on June 23, also contributed.

As for SpongeBob Moves In, something else played a major role here: the game cost $3.99 until July. Its transfer to the Free category allowed the application to jump from the 820th position to the 2nd in less than a week. But here you need to understand that this year there was also a tape about SpongeBob. However, in February, not in summer.

Initially, the game just got into the categories of free apps of the week. It was planned that at the end of the Apple promotion, the price tag would return, but the developers were so impressed with the success that they left the application free.
