The creators of the game Potato Please, which involves peeling potatoes, have been accused of plagiarism—allegedly, it might have been copied using AI
A scandal has erupted in the indie segment. Polish developer Radosław Klasa claims that Golden Horn Studios stole the idea for his game 1,000,000 Potatoes and used it as the basis for their Potato Please.

The games are indeed very similar to each other: both are potato-peeling simulators set in the austere atmosphere of an army/industrial warehouse.
Klasa wrote an angry post about the situation on the social network X. In it, the developer noted that he announced 1,000,000 Potatoes back in July 2026, while the authors of Potato Please officially presented their project just a few days ago. In Klasa's opinion, such a delay in dates and the significant gameplay similarity prove plagiarism.
"This is every indie developer's worst nightmare. I created the concept [of 1,000,000 Potatoes] for the GMTK game jam. I delayed launching the Steam page to polish the gameplay mechanics... and then the game was simply copied and released. Likely, mostly using a simple AI prompt," Klasa stated.
After publishing the post, Klasa did create a Steam page for 1,000,000 Potatoes. He hopes that ultimately his game will attract more gamers than Potato Please.
In turn, Golden Horn Studios denied the accusations. In a response post on X, the studio explained that they had never seen 1,000,000 Potatoes before and that the idea for Potato Please originated from a popular meme within their community. Golden Horn Studios added that they could provide files on the game if necessary — some images from the development process have already been posted on X.
"We are more than willing to discuss the real similarities between the projects, but publicly making assumptions about our team and our game as facts is unfair," emphasized the creators of Potato Please.
