Akihiro Hino, who leads Level-5, has openly acknowledged and apologized for using generative AI in a recent digital presentation by the company.

According to VGC, after fans noted signs of AI-generated elements in content related to Professor Layton and Yo-Kai Watch, Hino admitted the technology's involvement.

Hino addressed the issue on X/Twitter, apologizing to fans for any discomfort. He mentioned the AI was intended to enhance the presentation's appeal, not replace human creativity in their games.

Hino emphasized that Level-5 games retain a human touch, with AI mainly supporting tasks like converting art to polygons to increase productivity, relevant to their ambition to reduce project durations from five years to two.

It has been recently noted that 61% of game developers in Europe are anxious about AI increasing their workload and pace, but fewer, about 35%, fear job displacement or a decreased need for their expertise due to AI advancements.
