Roblox unveils innovative AI tools for developers

Roblox Corporation has introduced a set of innovative tools intended to aid creators in generating engaging content, broadening their reach, boosting their income, and establishing thriving enterprises.
These developments were shared during the 11th annual Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) on September 5, 2025. The update highlights a series of AI advancements that are designed to give creators greater artistic autonomy, functional enhancements, and more intelligent developmental support.
One key advancement is in generative AI, with a focus on producing 4D objects. This new tool focuses on interactions between objects, settings, and users, providing models equipped with inherent functionalities. It is scheduled for a limited introduction in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Building on its existing AI features, Roblox is enhancing its AI-driven real-time text chat translation tool, initially rolled out in February 2024. Next year, a real-time voice chat translation service will be launched, facilitating conversations in English, Spanish, French, and German, with translations rendered into users' native languages.
Additional features include APIs for text-to-speech and speech-to-text capabilities. The text-to-speech API can currently convert text using ten different preset voices, while the speech-to-text API allows for action execution via voice commands, introducing a new dimension of immersion and accessibility. Both tools are anticipated to have limited releases by the year's end.
Moreover, updates extend to Developer Assistants, which enable coding through plain language input. These assistants now offer improved context awareness and will soon integrate with the model context protocol (MCP).
"This advancement means Assistants can operate not just as an MCP server but as a client, coordinating tasks across prominent third-party platforms such as Figma and Blockade Labs," stated Roblox.
In addition to these AI innovations, Roblox Corporation has revealed improvements in performance and visual quality aimed at exploring new game genres and styles, such as enhanced avatars, a new server authority mode, and better engine capabilities.
Among the new features is Roblox Moments (beta), a short-form video platform designed to help creators grow and interact with their audiences. Additionally, the Developer Exchange Program (DevEx) rate has increased, offering an 8.5% boost in earnings when creators exchange Robux for cash.
From July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, Roblox creators exceeded $1 billion in earnings via the DevEx program and are projected to surpass this amount in the current year.
"We aspire to provide developers with the means to transform their visions into flourishing businesses," expressed Nick Tornow, senior vice president of engineering at Roblox.
"Repeatedly, we notice that with powerful resources and prospects, our creators produce inspiring works that redefine the creative landscape."
"At Roblox, deploying advanced tools, many leveraging AI capabilities, expedites the journey from concept to reality, enhancing creative processes."
