Jessica Jung, who previously held the position of project manager lead at Niantic, has transitioned to a leadership role at Supercell. She will oversee the newly established "AI Innovation Lab" in San Francisco, a position she described as an "offer that [she] couldn't refuse."

In a LinkedIn update, Jung mentioned her new venture at Supercell, highlighting the company's ambition to be at the forefront of AI innovation in creating novel entertainment forms.

Referencing Supercell's history, Jung remarked on their past success in transforming the gaming industry through mobile technology, suggesting they are set to innovate once again (credit to MobileGamer).

Before this role, Jung was involved in developing her personal AI startup, focusing on interaction models, multimodal agents, and cognitive wellness. She also contributed to Niantic's augmented reality virtual pet application.

Jung emphasized the groundbreaking potential of the lab, stating, "We're building the lab from 0->1, exploring how AI can empower developers to unleash their creativity and introduce innovative interaction models."

In addition to its AI endeavors, Supercell fortified its investment in Space Ape, a transaction completed with the acquisition of the London-based company in November 2024 (source).

A prior version of this article incorrectly linked the AI Innovation Lab to Niantic.
