Future, a UK-based specialist media publisher, has entered into a strategic partnership with OpenAI
Future, a leading distributor and publisher of niche media, has formed a new alliance with OpenAI, incorporating ChatGPT into its operations.
Future is recognized for various specialized lifestyle publications and digital platforms, particularly within the gaming sphere, including Edge magazine, PC Gamer, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, and GamesRadar+.
The UK-based company announced that this collaboration will expand the reach of Future’s journalism, enriching the ChatGPT interface. Users of ChatGPT will gain access to content from Future's extensive portfolio, complete with credits and links to the original full articles for added clarity and more details.
Additionally, the publisher has launched chatbots designed to facilitate deeper engagement with articles from Tom’s Hardware and Who What Wear.
Future plans to integrate OpenAI's tools across several departments including sales, marketing, and editorial to "enhance productivity."
Jon Steinberg, CEO of Future, stated, "Our focus across Future's brands is on expanding our dedicated audiences and building worldwide communities. This partnership with OpenAI aids us in reaching this objective by increasing the channels through which our content is available."
He further commented, "ChatGPT opens up a new path for users to discover our exceptional specialized content. Future is leading the way in utilizing AI both to create novel ways for audience engagement and to bolster our staff's work efficiency."
After 25 years, Future ceased publication of its Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM) in May 2021, launching Play, a successor with the same editorial team minus the official Sony endorsement. However, in October 2024, Play was also discontinued.
