Information about Oculus Quest 2 has leaked to the network
A couple of days before the official announcement, details about the new Oculus VR glasses leaked onto the Internet. Apparently, Oculus Quest 2 will receive a Snapdragon XR2 chip from Qualcomm and a resolution of “almost 2K for each eye.”
Yesterday, several videos with the presentation of Oculus Quest 2 suddenly appeared on the Facebook Blueprint website. The videos were hurried to delete, but not fast enough — the service users managed to save them and re-upload them to YouTube.
The videos said that Quest 2 will get 3D positional sound, more convenient controllers and a high—resolution picture – 2K for each player’s eye.VR glasses will also receive 6 GB of gigabytes of RAM and 256 GB of additional internal memory. Quest 2 will work on the basis of the Snapdragon XR2 chip. In addition, the new model will be smaller and lighter than its predecessor.
For comparison, Quest 1 uses a Snapdragon 835, a display with a resolution of 1440 × 1660 for each eye and 4 GB of RAM.
Despite the changes, Quest 2 will also support all games for the first-generation headset.
The release date and price of Quest 2 are still unknown. But Facebook is likely to hold an official presentation tomorrow during the Facebook Connect conference.
