The creators of Magic Leap One have launched grants for AR developers
The authors of the Magic Leap One mixed reality glasses are looking for creators of applications for their headset. Talented indie developers have been promised grants from $20,000 to $500,000.
The startup Magic Leap has established a foundation within the framework of the so-called “Independent Creators Program” (Independent Creator Program). Indie developers of AR applications for Magic Leap One will get into this program. Since the financial contributions will be issued as grants, the developers will retain their intellectual property rights and profit.
The submission of applications on the Magic Leap website will last until December 15 this year. A prerequisite for candidates: the publication period of their projects should be from three to 12 months.
The head of the content department of Magic Leap, Rio Caraeff, said that this is only the first wave of grants, and the distribution of all funds of the fund is designed for a year. According to him, within the framework of the program, developers will be provided not only financial, but also technical and marketing support.
This program is very important to us, because it allows us to reach the entire community of independent developers.
