AR startup Magic Leap intends to raise another $500 million

Magic Leap is looking for $500 million in investments to accelerate the release of augmented reality headsets. These investments will raise the startup’s value to $6 billion.

Magic Leap has already raised over $1.3 billion in investments. Companies such as Alibaba Group, Qualcomm and Google have invested in it.

According to the results of the previous investment round, the company was valued at $4.5 billion.

The technology of Magic Leap AR glasses allows you to overlay high-resolution images on the real world.

At the same time, the headset, although larger than ordinary glasses, is smaller than virtual reality helmets like the Oculus Rift.

The preliminary cost of the Magic Leap headset is estimated at $1.5–2 thousand.

The company hopes to deliver the first batch of glasses within six months.
