Since 2013, ID@Xbox has disbursed over $5 billion to independent developers

Microsoft announced that since the ID@Xbox program commenced in 2013, it has compensated developers with over $5 billion.

In an official blog post, Guy Richards, the director of ID@Xbox, highlighted that the program saw the release of more than 1,000 titles in 2024, including notable games such as Balatro, Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, and Phasmophobia.

During a discussion with GameRant, Richards revealed that since the program's start, ID@Xbox has collaborated with over 5,000 developers worldwide, resulting in approximately 6,000 game releases.

Reflecting on the program's achievements, Richards remarked, "If you were to ask anyone involved at the beginning whether they thought we would reach these milestones by 2025, they'd be skeptical." He emphasized that the program's success underlines independent developers' creativity and Xbox's commitment to supporting developers globally, making it simpler to integrate games into their platform. Additionally, this success is attributed to the enthusiasm of fans keen to enjoy these innovative games across all available devices.
