Steam is expanding its "Deal of the Day" promotion from four to six games
“Deal of the Day” is a promotion on Steam where games are featured on the store's homepage and certain other sections for 24 hours. Valve has announced that now six games will be featured simultaneously in this promotion.
The company reminded that two years ago such a feature was only available to two games per day, but at the beginning of 2024, it increased the number of spots in the promotion to four. The idea proved successful. Developers gained more opportunities to draw attention to their projects, and Steam's algorithms became better at selecting suitable games for each user.
According to Valve's calculations, in 2024 the “Deal of the Day” featured 2,843 games. Participation in the promotion has earned them “tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

Additionally, Valve announced that developers would be able to see reports in Steamworks with information about revenue and traffic generated during the promotion immediately after the “Deal of the Day” ends. If multiple games from a developer participated in the “Deal of the Day,” statistics will be provided for each game.
