Meanwhile, unit sales of consoles in Russia remained unchanged. As in 2023, they amounted to 1.45 million units.
The best-selling console of 2024 in terms of rubles and units was traditionally the PlayStation. It accounted for 71.6% of all spending and 29.5% of all devices sold. This is more than in 2023 when PlayStation's share in the Russian market was 63.7% of the revenue and 18.6% of the units.
Xbox consoles retained second place in monetary sales, but their share significantly decreased over the year—from 16% to 8.9%. The share of Xbox unit sales also declined—from 7.1% to 4.8%.
Steam Deck surged to third place in ruble sales. As noted by "M.Video-Eldorado," sales of Valve devices in Russia jumped by more than 70% over the year, approaching Xbox figures. The company did not disclose how much Russians spent on the Steam Deck in 2024 but did reveal the number of units sold: 43,000.
Meanwhile, the share of the Nintendo Switch in monetary sales of consoles in Russia slightly decreased. Compared to 2023, it dropped from 6.5% to 5.3%. In units, however, the Nintendo Switch's share rose from 4.5% to 4.9%.
