[UPD] Live service games dominate Steam charts, with no single-player or new releases in top 20
The drought of new major releases continues, so seeing evergreen hits at the top of the Steam charts is not surprising. Here are the highest-grossing titles on the platform over the past seven days.
UPDATE: It appears that the charts were “broken” and initially showed the wrong data (via SteamDB), with Valve fixing it a few days later. While PUBG was really the top-grossing game for the week of January 14-21, many other titles were listed incorrectly.
Below are the top 10 premium games by gross revenue for the week of January 14-21, excluding Steam Deck and free-to-play titles:
-
- Dynasty Warriors: Origins
- Asseto Corsa EVO (new)
- Path of Exile 2
- EA Sports FC 25
- Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Heroes of Hammerwatch II (new)
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- Ready or Not
Original article: PUBG was the top-grossing game on Steam for the week of January 14-21, followed by Counter-Strike 2, Marvel Rivals, and Dota 2.
The only two premium titles in the top 10 were Path of Exile 2 (#5) and EA Sports FC 25 (#8).
Delta Force landed at #6, jumping 20 positions from the previous week thanks to the start of the new season. Tencent’s free-to-play shooter also broke its CCU record, peaking at over 131k concurrent players over the weekend.
There were other live service titles that saw an increase in their gross revenue last week, including Once Human (#37, ↑28 spots), Naraka: Bladepoint (#10, ↑6), The First Descendant (#12, ↑54), and Black Desert (#16, ↑28).

Top 20 highest-grossing products on Steam, including F2P titles and Steam Deck, for the week of January 14-21
It is worth noting that all titles in the top 20 are live service games with multiplayer features — either free-to-play or paid (e.g. EA Sports FC 25, Helldivers 2). You need to scroll down to 25th place to see a single-player title (Limbus Company). Dynasty Warriors: Origins, which peaked at over 69k concurrent players at launch, landed at #28 overall (#9 among paid games).
The top 10 premium games are also dominated by multiplayer / live service products, with Dynasty Warriors: Origins being the only exception. The latter is also the only new release in the top 50.
We don’t usually talk about the Steam Deck here, because we focus on games, not hardware. However, Valve’s handheld device fell 44 positions over the past seven days, landing at #47 overall. This comes amid the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement, but the exact reasons behind such a rapid decline are unclear.
