The publishing rights for Shenmue 3 have been transferred to Inin Games

Inin Games is now responsible for publishing Shenmue 3.

Developer Ys Net expressed enthusiasm in a statement, noting that prior collaboration with Inin on Air Twister "strengthened the relationship between Inin Games and YS Net." They are eager for Inin to "guide Shenmue 3 into its upcoming journey."

Inin Games plans to collaborate with Ys Net to "respect the series' history while facilitating its reach to a broader audience globally."

Founded by ex-Sega developer Yu Suzuki, Ys Net is an independent studio known for its Shenmue 3 Kickstarter in 2015, which set two Guinness World Records, one being for the quickest $1 million raised for a crowdfunded game.

Shenmue 3 launched at fourth place on the Japanese sales charts, moving fewer than 18,000 copies during a week that saw Nintendo games dominate.
