Apple has changed the price of apps and the cost of in-app purchases in the App Store in a number of countries

Against the background of changes in tax policy in some countries, Apple has revised pricing in the App Store. Apps will become cheaper in the UK and South Africa. And in Georgia, on the contrary, they will cost more.Apple announced this to developers on August 3.

The changes will affect not only the cost of applications, but also all in-app purchases.

The

company explains this by changes in the exchange rate and new tax legislation in some countries. Developers will be able to adjust prices in the App Store Connect. As for automatically renewable subscriptions, their price may remain unchanged for existing users.

The minimum cost of apps and in-app purchases will decrease in South Africa, the UK, as well as the EU countries.

At the same time, the price tag will increase in Georgia and Tajikistan. In these countries, a new VAT of 18% will also apply. Developers’ revenue will be adjusted accordingly.

Apple separately noted the latest changes in the current tax rate for digital services in Italy. That is why the cost of apps and in-app purchases will also increase. The full list of countries and new prices can be found here.

Last October, Apple raised the price tags in the Russian App Store. As a result, the minimum cost of the application was 99 rubles.
