The author of LawBreakers blamed the publisher Nexon for the failure of the game in 2018
Game designer Cliff Bleszinski found the culprit in the failure of the online shooter LawBreakers, followed by the bankruptcy of his studio. In his opinion, the publisher Nexon failed.

Co-founder of developer Boss Key Productions Arjan Brussee believed that the publisher was to blame for the failure of the game. The title was taken over by South Korean Nexon — not as strong a player in the market as Activision or EA, according to the studio’s management.
“Arjan realized that a less cool deal with the “old guard” — Activision or EA — would be more profitable for us than the one that seemed very profitable to us then – with the Koreans. It seems that the American branch of Nexon did not know what it was doing at all,” Blesinski noted.
Nexon also reported inflated expectations from LawBreakers. One of the reasons for the failure, according to the company’s representatives, was an unsuccessful launch time. The title was launched at the same time as PUBG. But note that these projects were in different genre niches.
It is still unknown how unprofitable LawBreakers turned out to be. Nexon noted only that the game was responsible for “most of the $32.5 million quarterly loss” in 2018.
LawBreakers is an online shooter released in 2017. Despite all the efforts of the team, the audience of the game on Steam did not exceed 3 thousand people.
Boss Key Productions, founded by Blesinski, went bankrupt by May 2018 (including due to the failure of another game). A few months later, the LawBreakers servers were also closed, and Blesinski left the industry.
