The Steam Link streaming app has been released in the App Store

Valve has released an iOS version of the Steam Link app. Streaming of Steam games on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV has now become available.

Last year, the Steam Link application was not certified by Apple. The latter did not want to give users the opportunity to purchase games outside the App Store. And since players could purchase content on Steam through the Steam Link, Apple declined the request to publish the application.

However, now Valve and Apple have settled the matter. In the released iOS version of Steam Link, by agreement of the parties, players will not be able to purchase games. The app is intended for streaming only. By the way, it supports not only Steam gamepads, but also any MFi, writes Gamesindustry.biz .

Recall that Steam Link allows you to transfer a Steam game running on a PC to a smartphone. There is still a condition for using the software on iOS devices: the smartphone and the PC must be on the same local network. The Android version of the application within the beta test already supports the broadcast of the gameplay without being tied to a single network.
