On GOG.COM released digital versions of Warcraft and Warcraft II

Following Diablo on the digital platform GOG.COM Two more classic Blizzard Entertainment games have appeared. Warcraft: Orcs & Humans and Warcraft II have gone on sale Battle.net Edition.

This was announced today, March 28, by the developer and publisher of the series.

According to the press release, the first part of the strategy is “fully adapted to work on modern operating systems.”

As for the second one, it works by analogy with the Diablo re-released in early March.

In other words, Warcraft II has two versions. The first one works correctly on modern systems, but supports only local multiplayer. The second is an original game and allows you to fight through network services Battle.net .

Neither in the case of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, nor in the case of Warcraft II Battle.net Edition is not about significant visual changes. The interface of the games is not adapted to the aspect ratio of 16 to 10, and therefore they are played on modern monitors with black stripes on the sides.

Blizzard Entertainment is also scheduled to release a Warcraft III remake this year — Warcraft III: Reforged.

Unlike the projects released today, it will be a completely redesigned version of the original game.

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans was released in November 1994 on the MS-DOS platform. The game was one of the first RTS and the ideological successor of Dune 2. For its time, the project was extremely successful. In the first year, the total sales of the game reached 100 thousand. In total, it sold 300 thousand copies.
