Metro Exodus hit the top of Steam Sales before disappearing from the Store

The sudden transfer of the game to the Epic Games Store did not suit everyone.

The breaking news about the transition of Metro: Exodus to the Epic Games Store provoked a buying boom in the Steam store. Last night, the game was at the very top of the top “Sales Leaders”, as reported on the Zone of Games forum.

Players rushed to buy up the new product that has not yet been released, not wanting to follow it into the Epic Games launcher. By this minute, the Metro Exodus purchase button was removed from Steam. But the game still shines in the leadership top, beating the remake of Resident Evil 2, CS:GO, Dota 2 and PUBG.

Only those users who managed to pre-order the game directly in the Valve store will be able to play Metro Exodus on Steam. They will also have access to Steam versions of future DLC, which has already been confirmed by Deep Silver.

However, Metro Exodus keys from retail stores, according to SteamPay, can only be activated in the Epic Games Store. This applies to both digital and boxed versions pre-ordered or purchased after release outside of Steam. Anyone who does not agree with the transfer of the title to another launcher, as an alternative, is offered to issue a refund.

Metro Exodus will be an Epic Games Store exclusive throughout the year. In February 2020, it is expected to return to Steam. However, for players who are stunned by the changes, this is little consolation. Their discontent manifested itself in a massive underestimation of the rating of the game on Steam. Many criticize both the publisher of the game and Epic Games for the fact that the “exodus” of Metro Exodus from Steam was announced just two weeks before the release. We add that the Valve platform itself was also notified at the last moment.
