The decrease in the number of Bluehole hit players is reported by the rating service GitHyp, which tracks game attendance through Steam statistics.
At the beginning of 2018, PUBG set an attendance record, simultaneously gathering 3.2 million online players. After that, the activity of gamers began to gradually decrease, and the peak online did not rise above 3 million.

On February 14, Bloomberg Tokyo reporter Yuji Nakamura tweeted that more than half a million people stopped playing PUBG from January to February. According to Nakamura, people are leaving the game because of the large number of cheaters.
At the same time, earlier this month Bluehole reported that in January it banned more than a million PUBG players for cheating.
PUBG’s position continues to weaken its closest competitor Fortnite from Epic Games. On February 8, the game beat the best online PUBG, simultaneously gathering 3.4 million gamers.
Unlike PUBG, Fortnite is partially free and available on more platforms.
