Valve: restrictions on Steam keys will affect only fraudsters
Valve intends to stop issuing Steam store game keys to the authors of “gambling-like projects” created for the sake of manipulating the trading platform’s capabilities.
A day earlier, Valve employee Sean Jenkins announced that the company would no longer issue developers any volumes of game keys on request in order to stop their resale on third-party sites.
Now the company clarifies that manipulations with Steam include the farming of collectible cards or the sale of low-quality applications under the guise of fully functional games.
Valve assured that bona fide partners are not in danger, and they can sell Steam keys of their games at a discount through other sites, for example, as part of the Humble Bundle sets.
