The online gaming platform Roblox has enhanced its parental controls, incorporating three new features aimed at increasing the safety of young users.

Among the updates, parents can now block and report any users on their child's friends list, stopping direct communication from those blocked.

Previously, guardians could only adjust the maturity level of content; now, they're able to block specific games and experiences entirely.

Moreover, Roblox has introduced a new tool providing parents with insights into which experiences their children engage in most. The tool displays the 20 experiences with the highest playtime over the past week, enabling parents to restrict any undesired experiences.

Additionally, features allow parents to set spending restrictions and manage privacy settings on their child's account.

"By offering the ability to block specific contacts and experiences, along with tracking playtime, we're empowering parents to enhance their child’s safe interaction on Roblox," stated ConnectSafely's CEO, Larry Magid.

Magid further commented on Roblox’s ongoing commitment to providing useful tools for both enjoyment and safety on the platform.

These enhancements to parental controls were outlined in October 2024, with implementation following in November. The changes included remote access for parents, updated messaging settings, and content categorization additions.

Further measures included establishing moderation for experiences without ratings and limiting the availability of social hangouts and unregulated content.
