MTG has completed the acquisition of Plarium, the developers of RAID: Shadow Legends and Vikings: War of Clans
The company Aristocrat finalized the deal to sell the creators of RAID: Shadow Legends. Plarium now officially belongs to the media conglomerate Modern Times Group (MTG).

As a reminder, Aristocrat and MTG agreed to the deal in November 2024. According to its terms, MTG agreed to pay up to $820 million for Plarium in total. The amount consists of two parts — a fixed payment of $620 million and an additional compensation of no more than $200 million, which MTG will transfer by the end of 2028. The final cost for Plarium will depend on the developers’ financial results.
Previously, MTG stated that it expects the acquisition of Plarium to increase its revenues and strengthen its position in the market.
Plarium is an Israeli company founded in 2009. According to data from AppMagic, by November 2023, gamers worldwide had spent $3.37 billion in its mobile games, with the majority in RAID: Shadow Legends. This battler accounted for 57% of the expenditures.
In the news regarding the final sale of Plarium, Aristocrat also mentioned that they will not be selling the mobile publisher and developer Big Fish Games at this time. In May 2024, Aristocrat announced it was considering such an option, around the same time it expressed the desire to sell Plarium. However, Big Fish Games will now cease developing new games and will focus on supporting its evergreen hits.
