The general manager of Netflix Games will be paid up to $1.3 million per year—the same salary as the head of EA

At the end of last year, Netflix began searching for a general manager for its gaming division. According to a job listing found by MobileGamer, the salary promised for this position is generous.

The job listing states that the company is willing to pay the top manager an annual salary ranging from $500,000 to $1.3 million. The amount will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the person ultimately hired.

Netflix clarified that unlike many other companies, it does not have a bonus system, so the salary will be the only remuneration the gaming division's general manager receives. If desired, the manager can request that part of the compensation be paid in the form of stock options.

For comparison, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson's base annual salary has been maintained at $1.3 million for several years. However, this is only a small part of his earnings. For example, from April 2023 to March 2024, thanks to stock awards and various bonuses, Wilson earned $25.64 million.

In contrast, the earnings of Take-Two Interactive's head Strauss Zelnick are significantly lower. According to company reports, during the same period, he received a salary, including all bonuses, of $274,000.

Currently, Netflix's gaming division is led by Alain Tascan, who holds the position of President of Netflix Games. At the beginning of this year, Netflix announced that it plans to change its approach to games. The company now aims to focus more on titles based on well-known franchises, including its own, as well as party games, children's games, and games with deep narratives.
