Dead Astronauts has secured €4 million in a seed funding round

Dead Astronauts, a game development studio from Sweden, has successfully secured €4 million through an oversubscribed seed funding round led by Behold Ventures.

This funding will facilitate the expansion of the company's team and support the development of a new open-world action-adventure game, currently referred to as Veil, which is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.

The round also saw investment from Lifelike Capital, 1Up Ventures, and Acequia Capital, along with contributions from angel investors such as Matt Bilbey, Are Mack Growen, Klaas Kersting, Asbjoern Malte Soendergaard, and Kristian Segerstråle.

Co-founders Erik Morin and Tobias Nyman expressed their enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to have successfully completed our seed round and bring our vision for Dead Astronauts to life as a next-generation game studio. While today's market presents unique challenges, we see immense opportunities to reinvent open worlds and push game-changing technology. We are incredibly grateful to have investors who believe in our vision and are excited to support bold new player experiences."

Karl Magnus Troedsson, managing partner at Behold Ventures, commented, "We are delighted to back such an ambitious team and look forward to seeing them bring their groundbreaking vision to life."

Dead Astronauts was established in 2024 by experienced industry professionals Tobias Nyman, Erik Morin, Robert Moschos, and Thomas Tedemalm.
