Final Fantasy 14 set to launch on mobile platforms

Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy 14 is being adapted for mobile devices by Lightspeed Studios.

Although the release date has not been confirmed, it will first be introduced to players in mainland China, followed by a worldwide launch.

The mobile version will debut with nine duties from the main game, but additional content details remain unspecified.

Game director Naoki Yoshida remarked, "It has been 11 years since the rebirth of Final Fantasy 14, and it's been a remarkable journey."

He added, "This is our latest MMORPG, carefully designed for mobile. Despite some changes, Lightspeed Studios is fervently working to accurately portray the game's story, duties, battle elements, and more."

Lightspeed Studios, known for creating PUBG Mobile, is a subsidiary of Tencent.

The studio recently opened a new Japan location, led by former Capcom director Hideaki Itsuno, focusing on original AAA action titles.
