Adam Williams, previously a lead writer at Quantic Dream, has launched a new gaming firm with financial support from Krafton.

Williams heads Republic Games, which has secured investment from the South Korea-based publisher, though the amount isn’t disclosed.

The new company is a "small but highly skilled global team of developers" focusing on an unnamed role-playing game.

"Republic Games was established to create fun and impactful experiences," expressed Williams. "Our sole aim is to provide players with what they desire: excellent gameplay, compelling narratives, memorable characters, and a fantasy journey they won't forget."

Krafton’s investment director, Mike Hong, remarked: "Republic Games is dedicated to elevating interactive storytelling. They focus on engaging stories, player autonomy, significant decisions, and allowing players to follow their own fantasy."

Earlier this year, Williams departed Quantic Dream, where he contributed to projects like Detroit: Becoming Human and the anticipated Star Wars: Eclipse.
