Davide Soliani departs from Ubisoft

After more than 20 years with Ubisoft, Davide Soliani is moving on.

The announcement came from Ubisoft Milan's creative director's social media update, declaring it was time for "a new adventure."

In his post, Soliani reflected, "After 25 years, including 11 amazing years collaborating with Nintendo on Mario + Rabbids and engaging with our fantastic community, I've decided to leave Ubisoft to start something new. I can't share more details now. Many thanks for everything, sincerely."

Soliani's journey with Ubisoft began in 1997 as a game designer, eventually taking on roles as lead game designer and studio manager in Montreal and Milan.

He briefly worked on Kuju's Battalion Wars for the GameCube before rejoining Ubisoft Montreal in 2006, contributing to Open Season and Avatar as lead game designer.

In 2013, he became creative director at Ubisoft Milan and led the Mario + Rabbids series for over a decade.

A 2022 interview with GamesIndustry.biz revealed insights into Soliani's work with Nintendo on Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, the culmination of their collaboration since 2017. More can be found here.
