Almost half of mobile and PC gamers in Russia spend money to buy in-game currency
According to MY.GAMES, most often Russian gamers on PC, consoles and mobile devices spend money to buy in-game currency and items. But loot boxes from domestic players are not in great demand.Statistics on the Russian market based on data for 2020 were shared by the publication “RBC”.
- The most popular item of expenditure is the in—game currency. 47% of PC players and 46% of mobile gamers spend money on it, as well as 39% of console users.Game items are most often bought by console (43%) and PC gamers (44%).
- DLC is bought by 25% of console players.
- Among PC users, this figure is much lower – 17%.Console players are also actively buying subscriptions (40%), game characters (39%) and various amplifiers (36%).
- Premium accounts are most often bought by PC users – 30% of the audience.
- Almost a third of mobile players spend money to buy hints and energy for characters.
- But less than a quarter of users are ready to pay for the opportunity to remove ads.Less often than not, Russian gamers spend money to buy loot boxes.
- They are bought by only 14% of PC players, 16% of console gamers and 19% of mobile device users.Also, various elements of appearance are in relatively little demand.
- Cosmetics are bought by 28% of mobile users, 27% of PC players and 25% of console gamers.In total, according to MY.GAMES, the volume of the Russian market for the pandemic increased by 35% and reached 163.4 billion rubles ($2.25 billion).
