Epic Games Store has started a closed beta test of new functionality for self-publishing games
Epic Games Store is waiting for big changes. The store has opened accepting applications for participation in beta testing of the new functionality. We are talking about a set of tools for self-publishing games in the store.
As stated on the Epic Games Store website, the tools modernize processes such as:
- launching the product page;
- setting up achievements;
- setting the price;
- work with special offers;
- downloading builds and updates.
Previously, each of these processes was carried out “in manual mode”. In other words, it required attention and approval from Epic’s internal teams at every stage. Most likely, it was a huge amount of work, even considering a small library of 650 projects.
It is reported that the beta test is the first step towards opening a store for all developers who are ready to place products on digital storefronts. By the way, as part of the closed beta testing, the Epic team not only wants to test the functionality in “combat conditions”, but also get feedback on it from the developers.
