Plex has launched a cloud gaming service for retro games Plex Arcade
A new player has appeared in the cloud gaming market. Plex has introduced the Plex Arcade service, which allows you to play retro games from arcade machines by subscription.
The Plex service, which is an application for organizing a media library and streaming content, decided to enter the territory of cloud gaming. Unlike most competitors, Plex Arcade is not focused on modern and big-budget titles.
To launch the service, Plex licensed a catalog of games from Atari. A total of 30 classic arcade projects are available at the start. Among them are Asteroids, Missile Command, Ninja Golf, Basketbrawl and Motor Psycho.
Plex Arcade provides a seven-day trial. After that, you will have to pay either $2.99 per month (for Plex subscription holders) or $4.99 per month (for new users).
The service is available on Windows and Mac and supports most gamepads. Due to restrictions, Plex Arcade is currently not allowed to play on iOS, Android and in the Chrome browser.
The company notes that so far it considers Plex Arcade more as a hobby and hobby than a full-fledged business. If users show interest in the service and actively subscribe, developers will continue to expand the catalog.
