The original Sam & Max: Save the World is a sequel to the quest Sam & Max Hit the Road, which was released in 1993.
The game was originally created by Lucas Arts, but in 2004 the company canceled the development.
In 2006, a version of Save the World by Telltale Games was released, which consisted of six episodes. The project was warmly received by the press and players and eventually became one of the company’s business cards.
Skunkape studio, founded by Dan Connors and consisting of former Telltale employees, worked on the remaster. Now the company owns the rights to the franchise and plans to release the rest of the “seasons” in the future.
The remaster of Save the World was released for PC and Nintendo Switch, and its average score on Metacritic was 84 points.
