The Swedish gaming industry earned $2.7 billion in 2019
Sweden’s gaming industry has remained profitable for 11 years in a row, Swedish analysts say. Its turnover grew by 23% and reached the $2.7 billion mark. However, all this happened in 2019.
The main thing from the analysts’ conclusions:
- The revenue of the Swedish gaming industry in 2019 amounted to €2.29 billion ($2.7 billion). For comparison, in 2018 it was €1.8 billion ($2.1 billion);

- In total, their volume amounted to more than €400 million ($470.9 million). Moreover, in 29 cases, the buyer was Swedish, not foreign companies;
- Last year, 58 new gaming companies opened in the country. This is 15% more than it was in 2018;
- the number of jobs has also increased. In total, 654 more people joined Swedish organizations in 2019. At the same time, only 279 new employees work on the territory of Sweden itself;

Analysts also told a little about what is happening in Sweden in 2020.
They noted that from January to October of this year, only 21 investment transactions were registered in the country. However, the value of these transactions has already exceeded €1 billion ($1.2 billion).
